Généalogie et archives Saint-Laurent Inc. was founded in 1986, originally La Régionale Saint-Laurent Inc., and is a volunteer-based group dedicated to the preservation and research of family genealogy. From its original focus on Franco-Ontarian heritage, the available material and expertise now extend to Eastern Ontario, Quebec, Akwesasne heritage, northern New York State, and Franco-American communities in New England.

The available resources include genealogical dictionaries, indexes of baptisms, marriages, and burials, archivists' reports, notarized documentation, reviewed land registries, and a lot more!

The database is large, and indexing and cataloging are ongoing. Our home base is the Cornwall Public Library and we are in the Cornwall Room on the south side of the building on Thursday and Saturday from 1 to 4 pm. You can contact us via email to book an appointment or request further information.

Généalogie et archives Saint-Laurent`s collection includes 100,000 deeds, wills, and transactions for Cornwall and Stormont County, approximately 4300 genealogy books, and family histories. Many obituaries (more than 670,000) from Cornwall and surrounding areas including Akwesasne, Eastern Ontario, and Quebec have been indexed and digitized.
